Head of Law & Governance (Monitoring Officer)

Salary Package up to £76,020 (Pay Review pending)

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join as the Head of Law and Governance, you will oversee a range of services including Community Safety, Committee Services and Legal, our Legal team also provides services to Warwick District Council a partnership that continues to thrive.

Following a boundary review the number of elected members is increasing from 36 to 41 in May. The Stratford-on-Avon District Council wards also has around 110 town and parish areas and as Monitoring Officer, you will have significant involvement with Councillors, both at District and Parish level.

The Monitoring Officer role is hugely respected both by the officers and the members of the Council, as such we are looking for a highly experienced professional, with a track record of delivering appreciable service improvements at a strategic level.

We are looking for an individual to lead the development and successful implementation of our future strategy, working closely with all members of the Council on helping to shape our ambitions.

This role will be at the heart of the Council’s Management Team and and as a qualified Solicitor you will bring a credible and robust approach to dealing with the most complex legal matters, providing legal advice to The Cabinet, whilst keeping the Council safe.
